The 1974
Wounded figure is one of the most interesting works by Ugo Guidi because it is the extreme act of life of the form, the acme of the art, the sculptor that breaks through the material giving it life in a wonderful, surprising and unexpected way.
This terracotta by Ugo Guidi is coloured, is white: with this expedient the artist suggests the marble block. The work is "broken" into two parts, there is a crack in the middle and a rivulet of red blood goes out of it. This is the way in which Guidi gives life to the material: even if this is a pure shape, it is a very eloquent work.
With the
Wounded figure Ugo Guidi brings his sculpture to his extreme consequences and his art reaches the acme of his studies.
