Ugo Guidi, Totem figures (1974)

The totem, for Ugo Guidi and for the Indians, is never totally taken out of reality, there are always some elements related to a real dimension. An example is the work Totem figures realized in 1974. The two figures that seems two geometric shapes are actually the extreme stylization of the human figure: in the right one we can see an eye, while in the left one there is a nose and a leaning object that reminds a leg.
